When I got back results for Air Pollution and Water Reclamation I was quite happy with myself for doing better than I expected, but everything just went downhill from then on. Arghhhh.
Going dinner with half the clique later at the glasshouse. Can't wait.
These few days have been feeling quite empty, felt there's nothing much for me to do ard the house or even anywhere. Have been more than happy to go to school and open eyes out for Caterpillar.
Ahhh so lame. I just gave another nickname. And this time it's Caterpillar. HAHA shoot me.

It's been a long year. Tiring emotional-draining one.
Year 2009. I have lost someone to another, I have lost someone to heaven, I have lost so many other things. And that they've chose to come one after another without giving me a break to breathe. And I thought I would break down and never stand up again. This year is like a downpour, a roller coaster ride. The worst of all, and yet the best of all my eighteen years.
Everyone says only with mistakes or obstacles, then you will learn and gain more. Now I truly understand it. Through all these, I guessed I only emerged stronger. I fought for someone I loved, but still lost it in the end. At least I tried achieving, but it always take both sides to fight together, I end up feeling tired and realised he would rather I'd not fight.
SNX. I learn that life is so fragile. Experienced how it felt when you were holding in your hands when it was taking its last few breathes, I remembered how my tears were just flowing uncontrolled. Worse when you don't dare to cry afterwards. It only takes awhile for me to fall in love with something I thought I would never have, and it takes a long time to recover from that pain when you lose it forever. I'm not comfortable talking about it. But nevertheless, it was not a regret.
Good things that I've been through this year. I left home for six weeks to live without depending on my family. That is one big experience. Big enough to cover up all tiny sadness. I travelled, went and see many places this year, realised so many life values. And, another big thing! I found out that I've slowly learn to love whatever I'm studying.
I guess I still miss S alot, and I guess I still love him. But he's not the same person at all. Same name looks the same. When the 'Happy Birthday' email came in, I felt nothing, like he was just another friend I know. The S I've been thinking about is gone, only remisnicing the one I used to know. It's confusing and strange. It feels as if he died.

Go get some laughs

Went ahead to watch Storm Warriors despite the need for studying over the weekend.
Effects were breathtaking, very good work for that. But it's one noisy movie.
When a sword fight began, with sound effects so loud and piercing into your ear drums. It was immediately a big turn-off, I covered half of my ears throughout except when there's talking, which is like 1/8 of the whole show. Maybe this is why I find it so hard to concentrate and found other sources of entertainment. Like laughing at the ridiculous details.
Names had it going first. They sound really good in Chinese. But in English, nah. Lord Godless. Wow, I thought the translation was bad enough. Until pretty Charlene Choi appeared. And guess what. 第二梦 her name, 'Second Dream'. And that triggered it, I was controlling my laughter whenever her name appears in the subtitles.
I know they don't have David Gan at that time, or your friendly $10 QB House, but their hairdos were absolutely out of place, fizzy long damaged hair.
Only exception was Aaron Kwok aka Cloud. He was the only one with shiny curly perm that dazzles on screen, and will you go Wow when he shows off his sword moves and his perm goes Whish whish whish. His hairdo never goes out of place even after he gets slammed into a cave wall. Made me jealous and wonder what hair spray did he use.
While half the cast in the movie had hair in their face, the other half had them bun up high on their heads reminding me of mushrooms.
There was this character Lord Wicked (another laugh out loud name) His hair was covering his face 90 percent I could not tell who he is, forgive him, as he had his arms chopped off when he could not forgive himself for losing control and killed too many farmers. Probably he couldn't see what happened at the end of the day, and appears at some scenes to speak profound Chinese that left me Huh?
Ekin Cheng aka Wind, turns to demonic powers to defeat Lord Godless. And could not control the devil in him. But the devil in him had his body turned so pale and bruised, into some beautiful colour that will have Edward Cullen nervous.
They create unknown Chinese words and name it after whatever they like, it's not as if it sounds good, it doesn't. This probably had some Chinese teachers breaking out in cold sweat.
Only two female cast, and both are 'flower vases'. Only talk little and gets injured/die. But they are the reason why the men in the movie can have that energy spur even after they get slammed around for hundreds of times.
And they run off to a tomb and have a tug-of-war with some bone (Very small for it to be from a dragon) Lord Godless demostrates how dangerous it is for us without a spine and teaches us never to wear something so heavy while engaging in a fight for your life.
Ended off with some cliff diving, breaking the rules of Mother Nature's gravitational force.
Overall, meaningless movie, adrupt ending. But I have to say, effects were good, the producers really know how to weigh their odds. Without the great effects and all the Shing shing shing of swords that made the movie-goers(not me) so involved, this movie would have been a total total failure. Sticking to the comics will be doing justice to the writers.
Storm riders when I was 7 was so much better. And, the two hunks looks less older.

New Moon is launching in Singapore soon. Am quite excited. But also a little nervous and afraid that the movie will disappoint me compared to the book. Because it always happens.Look at the girl on the New Moon poster up there. It's Jane from the Volturi. And it's Dakota Fanning in the role.
I can't really believe my eyes when I first saw the pictures or the trailer of the movie. She has grown so much! I first remember her as that little but intelligent girl in the movie "I Am Sam".
The movie moved me to tears, and it is still now one of the best movies I've ever watched.


She is really adorable and melts the viewers' hearts. Enjoyed the performance that she delievered in other movies like Charlotte's Web, and Dreamer, and Uptown girls, Cat in the hat.
Especially loved the spoiled, clever-know-it-all she was, in Uptown girls. How she would desanitize every single thing before she touch them.
And now, look at how much she has grown!
And I am glad that she kept her good-girl image. Full of potential, her acting skills are improving movie by movie. I hope that she continues to keep things low profile and not screw up like some other child stars did.
Me like DF. Would want to watch her other movies Hound Dog and horror movie, Hide and Seek.

Give it a try

Just caught 2012.
It was not a totally bad movie. Though it had some scenes which is totally not logical and had me laughing to myself. It was good because the graphics were so well done. It was good because the movie had you feeling like you are running with it. There were moments that I was clasping my mouth gasping.
I cried more in this movie than compared to Sister's Keepers. It shows the true colours of people and difficult decisions that had to be made during crisis.
(Few actors were quite cute too) So give it a shot, and watch it. Enjoy the awesome breathtaking scenes. It's the few of the must-watch this year anyway.
But, funny thing is, after watching 2012, I felt that Doomsday isn't going to happen after all. Though I was thinking that it may and might happen in the first place, before I watched it.

Feeling super unlucky/arghhh

Woke up from 1am and it marked the start of my relay to the loo. Woke up for the sixth time finding sun shining brightly, 8.10 (Late!) And found phone lying dead beside pillow, battery zonked out overnight. (It was two bars!) Zoomed off to the toilet. Stomach still very unkind to me. Skipped class.
Met mom in town didn’t get anything. Moody shopping. Orchard Central was quite a very-not-nice place. Small and confusing and tiring.
Huge headache otw home. Listened out to best friends on the phone, talking men. (Why can’t they be more sensitive?!) Thought the night was going to be better after all.
Opened fridge for milk. Split all over fridge rack because didn’t tighten milk cap properly. Had to clean up the veg container as well because milk dripped down into it. (Argh!!)
Was going to bed then Soon Xiang kindly texted me, “How do you do Assignment 2 for RE”. What assignment 2 what?!
End up in kitchen with Root beer and potato chips for dinner (Comfort food for the messed-up day) Very not good.

What's your secret ambition?
When someone asks, what is your dream? What do you aspire to be? What do you want to do when you grow up? What is your ambition?What do you answer them?
Everyone must have thought of being a life-saver when you were young. Policeman, fire fighter, paramedic, nurse. So strongly influenced by the television shows potraying these people as oh-so-wonderful, and made us spend time googling in our daydreams.
I've been thinking and asking myself what do I really want to do. It was not singing (though I like singing but never will I want to do that as a job), and surprisingly, it was not photography as well. One thing that doesnt make me fed-up, and helps to clear my mind, it's cooking.

I love to cook.
I don't know since when did I like slogging out in the kitchen and wake up early just to watch cooking shows. I grew to love staying in the kitchen with all the ingredients and spices, experimenting and coming up with my own recipes.

Pastry chef Martin Towse, looking at the pastries he makes simply makes my mouth drool. Each piece of sweet treat is done with hard work and passion.
It pays off when someone enjoys your cooking, even the simplest dish. When you see that person's face light up when eating the food you cooked, it is the best reward.
I like hot dishes, hot soupy heart-warming dishes. Oh I love Chinese food. Cannot live without it. the more I type the hungier I get.

On Tuesday. Joy brought us on food hunt again, this time to this awesome cafe, I gave it plus plus points when I stepped into the place already.
Everything With Fries.
It's tucked into the lanes of Joo Chiat. (Opp famous durian puffs and perpendicular to lovely Glory) The white chairs white-washed walls makes you feel like you've walked into another place. I can imagine some people would be saying this place looks like a hospital ward/corridor. But the whole design of the cafe makes me giggle with delight. It is quaint, romantic and hums freedom into your sight.
Pam's One Egg Soup was something new and interesting. Chicken broth together with a single egg yolk, and fluffy egg white on top. Delicious and will not get sick of it!
I order the lamb burger (S$9.90) It comes with fries and choice of coleslaw or baby casear. And for the fries there were different flavours to choose from - Original, sour cream, salt and vinegar, curry, garlic. And different cuts - shoestring or straight cut.
The lamb patty comes with a dollop of cottage cheese and herb tomato puree. It was a good combination that made Joy ooooh-ed. The meat was a little dry but taste was good. Salad was so-so, not bad.
Okay this is the highlight. Nutella Tart. It is one of the best desserts I've eaten yet. It's not too sweet and it has this awesome Oreo crust. Awesome. Thier desserts are unique to their cafe only!
I'm going to bring Ang and Neh-neh there one day for sure. And then, I'm going to try their salmon and pear tart.

I want to bury myself
I don't feel like bringing this further. I just want it to stay the way it is now, nothing more. Just this way will be so much better, there will be no frustrations no future heartbreaks. No reasons or explanations needed to give to one another.
Sometimes I'm even confused with myself what is going on in my mind. It is not his fault that he is similar in so many ways. It's just unfair to him that I'm judging things this way. But it is unfair to me also, I feel as if im facing the whole vicious cycle again. I'm afraid to start this all over again I'm tired of going through the same thing. But sometimes I feel differently.
Why are they so alike in so many ways? I feel sorry that I'm making him pay for a crime or mistake that was not his. Sometimes I know I have to put an end to this, sometimes I think that no, they are totally two different persons. I just keep contradicting myself with the reasons.

We wake up we dress up
Today is the beginning of FREE AND EASY WEEK. We are going bonkers with our time to chill and shop and explore new places, just that our feet will sore and ache at the end of the day.
I'm going to watch Stephen Chow movies, Wuhan City is having his movie marathon. I'm one happy girl!

A letter home
I've been email-ing my aunts. And now I'm going to watch Pushing Daisies, lazy to type another post to keep my audiences. But I'm not leaving nothing here either, read my mail :)
Hello Ahyi(s)!
Yesterday was PRC's national day. We took a ferry to another town of Wuhan City, Han Kou, and walked around their most luxurious area. There were a lot of shops but I didn't buy anything. Either everything was branded or more suitable for working adults. We brought out a lot of money but there was nothing for us to buy. So we took the ferry back early evening.
The streets got over crowded when it was evening time, everyone came to the habour area to look at fireworks. We walked into the famous night market, and still, there was nothing much for us to buy. It was quite disappointing. I walked until my feet were so 'suan'
There were so many people, SO MANY. Everyone squeezed shove here and there. But we stuck together, seven of us. It was quite fun joining the locals in the atmosphere of celebration, but getting home was a chore. We were at the bus stop waiting for the next bus over and over again when we couldn't get on the first. Though we were right in front, many of them shove their way through and got onto the bus first.
After sardine-packed buses passed, we decided to take 'black cab'. So we offered the driver 60RMB to take us back to the hostel in school. The bus journey would take about 1 hour without jam, and with the jam situation yesterday it will take even longer. It was quite exciting doing something illegal like that. Heh.
I'm alright though it is a little difficult coping with so many bad news at one time. I guess this is all part and parcel of life. But I feel that things this year are happening to me prematurely.
I hope everything is fine back home, mooncake festival is this weekend!
Just few days ago, all of us bought mooncakes from the bakery here thinking that it will be good because China is like the birthplace for mooncakes. But they are quite awful actually. Many different flavours, weird flavours (Beef mooncake?) We bought mini ones and tried and didn't intend to get any more. I do miss mooncakes back in Singapore! The most original Raffles Hotel mooncake with that lovely box. But please don't leave any for me, I won't be able to finish them.
I'm left with about 10 more days here! Ahhh time passes so fast. I wish I can stay here longer sometimes, but I do miss certain things back at home like all of you. It's just that the people and life here are so simple. Everyone is contented with what they have, happily living everyday. It makes me envy them alot in that point.
